Deepika Padukone on Irrfan Khan’s health: “All I can say is a little prayer every night”

After working with Irrfan Khan in ‘Piku’ (2015), Deepika Padukone was set to begin her next with the actor for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next. However, Khan was taken ill and has been undergoing treatment at a London hospital.

Asked how Khan’s health was, Padukone responded by saying, “He is someone I love, he is someone I am extremely fond of and to be honest I think it has also been very hard not reaching out because they have asked for their space. But I guess, you know sitting where I am all I can say is a little prayer every night and hope that you know that all goes well. But at the same time like I said you know three years ago I realised life is extremely fragile, so my whole perspective to life changed after my experience with depression.”

Talking about working with Khan again, she added, “The fact that Irrfan sir and I are going to be working together again, I’m so excited about that. Other than the brilliant actor that he is and all of us know, we see that but, he’s also such an amazing human being. It is going to be very special.”
