‘Tezaab’ director says Ek Do Teen recreation is “crass beyond imagination”

Tiger Shroff’s upcoming ‘Baaghi 2’ is gaining much negative momentum after the recreated version of Madhuri Dixit’s iconic ‘Ek Do Teen’, from ‘Tezaab’ (1988) was released this week. It has has rubbed many the wrong way, including the director of the film, N. Chandra. The director is extremely disappointed with the new version of the song, which features Jacqueline Fernandez, saying that it is “crass beyond imagination”.

In an interview to The Quint, Chandra also expressed his displeasure in Jacqueline Fernandez stepping into Dixit’s shoes for the song, saying, “I can’t believe they’ve done this to Ek do teen. It’s crass beyond imagination. And Jacqueline Fernandez doing Madhuri Dixit’s number? Give me a break! It’s like turning the Central Park into a botanical garden. Madhuri danced with such grace and innocence. This number is like a sex act.”

Chandra also added that Saroj Khan, the original choreographer was extremely angered by the song, and the duo are planning on taking legal action.
