Rajkummar Rao on ‘Omertà’: “It was a very tough film for us to make”

Rajkummar Rao has intrigued and surprised audiences with his versatile Bollywood roles. From films like ‘Shahid’ (2012) to ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017), Rao has proved that he is an actor that cannot be stereotyped into an specific genre or character. He will be next be seen in Omertà, a crime drama based on terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh, and says it was a tough film to make.

Rao spoke to IANS about the audience response to Omertà’s trailer, saying, “I think it got a great response. I feel it’s a one-of-its-kind and a very unique film. It was a very tough film for us to make, but I am glad about the kind of reactions we are getting for the film.”

Rao will also be working with Kangna Ranaut again for ‘Mental Hai Kya?’, after their successful ‘Queen’ (2014) collaboration, and added, “We haven’t started shooting yet, but I really like Kangna. We have done a film called Queen together and it is cult, so I am looking forward to start shooting for the new film with her.”

‘Omertà’ is slated for an 20th April release.
