Box Office: ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ opens up strongly

This weekend’s release ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ has got off to a strong start, surprising many in the industry.

The light-hearted romantic drama, is expected to soon emerge as the second biggest opener of 2018 so far after ‘Padmaavat’. Box Office India reports that the film’s collections were in the region of 30-35% and are expected to jump further in the evening and weekend.

‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ has done very well in Delhi/NCR/Punjab as the content holds appeal in those areas and the music soundtrack has done incredibly well with a North India flavour.

The other release this week, ‘Welcome To New York’ has been rejected at certain centres but it may do better in Punjab due to Diljit Dosanjh’s presence. Whether it picks up over the weekend, remains to be seen.
