Overnights: Star Plus Dopahar excels on Wednesday in UK

Star Plus UK’s experiment to bring back classic Star TV shows in the afternoon slot under the brand ‘Star Plus Dopahar’ is working a treat, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

On Wednesday, the channel surged on the back of big daytime ratings. Star Plus Dopahar slot, which runs between 13:00 and 16:00 did well with ‘Tumhari Paakhi’ at 15:00 on top. It was watched by 53,100 viewers, followed by ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’ at 13:30 with 47,000 viewers, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 14:30 with 44,500 viewers, ‘Saraswatichandra’ at 14:00 with 40,200 viewers and ‘Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ at 15:30 with 33,100 viewers.

Star Plus’ primetime shows also performed strongly with ‘Chakravyuh’ in pole position. It was watched by 104,800 viewers at 20:00, followed by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 103,100 viewers and ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 19:00 with 90,700 viewers.

Hum TV was in second place with a share of 0.05% and ‘Mere Meherbaan’ led with 30,200 viewers, followed by ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ at 22:00 with 17,000 viewers and ‘Dar Si Jati Hai Sila’ at 20:00 with 14,000 viewers.

Hum Masala was up in share to 0.04%. Its top show was ‘Des Pardes Ke Khanay’ raked in 37,100 viewers at 12:30.

Sony Entertainment Television also clocked a share of 0.04% with ‘Mere Sai’ at 19:30 pulling in 28,900 viewers, followed by ‘Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya’ repeat at 15:30 with 23,100 viewers and ‘Porus’ at 15:00 with 16,700 viewers.

ZEE TV delivered a share of 0.03% with repeats of ‘Zindagi Ki Mehek’, ‘Piyaa Albela’ and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ attracting 11,800 viewers each. ‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morre’ at 22:00 was top evening show on the channel with 12,200 viewers.

Geo TV was also on par with ZEE TV with the same share. Its top show was ‘Khalish’ at 20:00 with 12,500 viewers.

Colors’ share stood at 0.02% with ‘Tu Aashiqui’ at 20:30 raking in 14,500 viewers.
