BCCI invites bids for India cricket rights for next five years

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put out a tender, inviting bids for the broadcast and digital rights of all international and domestic cricket matches played in India between 2018 and 2023.

Star TV India currently holds the rights of India cricket after forking out Rs. 3.851 crore in 2012. The deal consists of broadcast and digital rights. In comparison, Star TV India paid an astronomical Rs. 16.347.50 crore for Indian Premier League for five seasons.

The new deal will be awarded through an online auction, with three packages to be chosen from. The three packages include global television rights plus rest of the world digital rights, digital rights for the Indian subcontinent and a global consolidated rights bid.

Interested parties have between now until 27th March to submit their bids. The online auction conducted by BCCI will take place at 14:00 on the 27th March 2018.
