Hotstar cuts price of premium subscription plans

In an effort to lure subscribers for longer periods, Star TV India’s OTT platform, Hotstar has slashed prices of its annual, half-yearly and quarterly plans.

Its annual plan has been reduced by nearly half to Rs. 1,200, its six-month plan now costs Rs. 894, while its quarterly plan rate stands at Rs. 498. The prices seem a lot more competitive than what the service was priced at previously.

Its rivals, Amazon prime Video costs Rs. 999 annually, while Netflix is priced at Rs. 500 per month for SD content.

Hotstar is currently promoting its upcoming Indian Premier League series, which kicks off in April.
