Box Office: ‘PadMan’ gets off to decent start

This week’s release ‘PadMan’ has got off to an average start at the box office.

Box Office India reports that the film has started around 25% – similar to Akshay Kumar’s previous release ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’. The film’s business is expected to pick up later this evening when the mass male audience watch the film. It will also build on its business over the weekend and has a chance of survival next week, if there’s positive word of mouth about its offbeat theme.

The film is also expected to do fairly well in Gujarat, Rajasthan and MP where ‘Padmaavat’ was not showing. Meanwhile, ‘Padmaavat’ has crossed Rs. 224.75 crore nett at the end of its second week – It is also the sixth highest second week of all time.
