Team ‘Padmaavat’ thank Akshay Kumar for postponing ‘PadMan’

The team of ‘Padmaavat’ have expressed their gratitude towards Akshay Kumar for postponing the release of ‘PadMan’.

The two films, which were set to clash next week at the box office, has now resulted in ‘PadMan’ being delayed until 9th February 2018, while ‘Padmaavat’ will have a solo release on 25th January 2018.

At a press conference, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “Padmaavat has been made after a lot of difficulties. We decided on the release date of 25 January but it was with Akshay Kumar’s date for PadMan. We requested Akshay to shift the date of PadMan because he is a big star and it would become difficult for us if our films would have released together. He knows about our difficulties and agreed in two minutes and he immediately said that he will do as I say. It needs a very large heart. You have to be able to exude so much goodness.”

“I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and I think I will be grateful to him for a lifetime for what he has done. I think the industry and world can understand that this is how we respect and stand by each other. And the fraternity will be proud of Akshay has done today because it is a gresture which is quite impossible in this industry. Thank you so much, Akshay,” he added.

Ranveer tweeted, “Big Man with a Big Heart! @akshaykumar … Grateful to you, Sir …. Mad Love and Respect.’’

Shahid Kapoor added, “Thank you @akshaykumar for being ever so gracious. Can’t wait to see #padman. Much love and luck. From team #padmaavat”

Padukone also thanked ‘PadMan’ team for moving the release date of their film.
