‘Padmaavat’ to release in Uttar Pradesh; not in Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh

‘Padmaavat’ is ready for its worldwide release on 25th January, but has still not passed the roadblock in a few states, including Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, but the film will now release in Uttar Pradesh, as it has  the necessary modifications asked by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Times of India reports a government official saying, “Now that the filmmaker has incorporated the changes suggested by the Censor Board, I see no reason why the release of the film should be stopped”.

For Gujarat, CM Vijay Rupani said, “We had banned the film’s release before polls, and that order still stays. We have not revoked it, hence there is no question of the film being released in the state.” Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Jo kaha tha, woh hoga (What I said, will happen.)”

‘Padmaavat’ will be releasing the same day as Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’.
