Shraddha Kapoor requested to make police statement

Shraddha Kapoor has found herself in a spot of legal trouble due to her film ‘Haseena Parkar’ (2017). The actress has been asked to produce herself to the police to record a statement relating to complaints raised by the fashion designers of the film.

Earlier in the year, Kapoor had been named as an accused in a criminal complaint made by fashion designers Aj Mistry and Thea Minhas. According to Spotboye, the duo had stated that Kapoor, along with the makers of ‘Haseena Parkar’ had failed to fulfil their contractual obligations relating to the promotion of their designs during the film’s publicity pre and post release. The designers had delivered over 300 outfits and as part of the contract, Kapoor was to undertake promotional activities including being a showstopper for a fashion show with the designers, mentioning the brand name in promotional activities and doing a photo shoot. The designers stated the actress did not fulfil her commitments and were forced to go via the legal route.

The designers’ lawyer confirmed that a judge had ordered the actress and the film makers to make statements to the police but refused to provide further comments on the case. Kapoor or the filmmakers have not yet made any official comments on the matter.
