Randeep Hooda to play Sultana Daku in film adaptation of novel

Randeep Hooda has added another film to his list of biopics by signing on to play Sultana Daku in an yet-untitled project.

Based on ‘The Confession of Sultana Daku’ (2009), a novel by Sujit Saraf, the film will be directed by Madhureeta Anand. According to producer Rahul Mittra, “The film will be shot in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh and Randeep, who is a champion horseman and rider, will film the extensive action and racing sequences in Kazakhstan, where real locations will pass off as North India from the ’20s.”

The project is planning to go on floors in April, 2018. “The approach to the film will not be dark and gory and more like a superhero-drama, where Robin Hood Randeep’s character takes from the rich and gives to the poor as India fights for freedom,” Mittra told Mumbai Mirror.

Earlier reports have suggested that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also be portraying the role of Sultana Daku in a film directed by Heeraz Marfatia and produced by London-based Beautiful Bay Entertainment.
