Vaani Kapoor signed for Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’?

There were rumours that Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif were being considered as the heroine of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, being helmed by Shree Narayan Singh. However, it seems it is Vaani Kapoor who has bagged the role.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers have zeroed in on the actress, who was last seen on screen in ‘Befikre’ which released last year. This film, which will see her opposite Shahid Kapoor, will be her third. She is also going to be seen alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in an upcoming Yash Raj Films production.

Vaani debuted in 2013 in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, under the watchful eye of Aditya Chopra.
