Varun Dhawan would like to make more kids films

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt who were attending this years Nickelodean Kids Choice Awards, were asked to share their experience of being in the industry since making their debut five years ago in ‘Student Of The Year’ (SOTY) (2012).

After ‘SOTY’ (2012), Dhawan and Bhatt went on to make a few more films together such as, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014), ‘Shuddhi’ (2016), and more recently ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017), which have all been very popular.

Reported in The Indian Express, Bhatt shares her thoughts first of the journey so far, “Many things have changed, and many things still remain the same.” Dhawan added, “When SOTY was released, we didn’t get any critical appreciation. After that Alia garnered critical acclaim for a lot for her work.” Bhatt jokingly responded, “Why only me?” Varun replied saying, “Because I didn’t. I got a lot of love from fans and from the audience.”

Dhawan’s next ‘Sui Dhaaga’ slated to release in October 2018, shares how he has learnt a new skill which will come in handy, “Now if I have to do fitting for my clothes, I can do it myself. So the training is  useful.”

Finally the duo was asked if they would like to do more kids films, Dhawan answered he would most certainly be up for that, “Of course, films for kids should be made, most of my films are made for kids. Judwaa 2, was also like that. My next film October (directed by Shoojit Sircar) has a youth appeal.” Bhatt felt that the younger audience really enjoyed both ‘SOTY’ (2012) and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017).
