UK TV Reach: Star Plus & Star Gold lead in respective genres

Star Plus and Star Gold remained leading channels in their respective genres, according to weekly reach data for week ending Sunday 3rd December 2017.

Star Plus’ reach dwindled but firmly stayed ahead of its rivals with 626,000 viewers, followed by Colors with 382,000 viewers, Zing with 378,000 viewers, Hum TV with 371,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 302,000 viewers, &TV with 301,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 273,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 254,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 252,000 viewers and ZEE TV with 248,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Rishtey with 224,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 190,000 viewers, PTV Global with 168,000 viewers, Prime TV with 152,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 136,000 viewers, Geo TV with 133,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 130,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 122,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 121,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 98,000 viewers, Venus TV with 73,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 54,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 53,000 viewers and Urdu 1 Europe with 38,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold was once again the UK’s most watched Bollywood movie channel with a reach of 434,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX and Rishtey Cineplex with 382,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 273,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 193,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music remained the UK’s most watched Asian music channel with 288,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 154,000 viewers, Sony Mix with 42,000 viewers and MTV Beats with 31,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News returned to the No.1 position in the South Asian news genre with 297,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 197,000 viewers and ABP News with 194,000 viewers. The next batch of channels included Dunya News with 164,000 viewers, Sama TV with 149,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 147,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 130,000 viewers, Times Now with 36,000 viewers and News18 with 11,000 viewers.
