Salman on Katrina being the “sweetest girl ever”

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have had quite a history together, be it on screen and off.

The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ couple, were rumoured to be dating a few years ago but still are cordial with each other when it comes to their work commitments.

Talking about meeting his co-star for the first time when she was 18, Khan told Mid-Day, “It was at a small get-together. She had come home for a party and I thought she was one of the sweetest girls ever. She knew my sister and all my friends, but she didn’t know me.” A friendly chat at the party led to the blossoming of a new romance. Khan and Kaif were reportedly in a relationship for four years before they parted ways in 2009. However, the two continue to be the closest of friends, even sharing screen space in Tiger Zinda Hai.

The coming year will mark 30 years in the industry for Khan. Considering he is the firstborn of celebrated screenwriter Salim Khan, one might assume that Khan always knew he wanted to be a movie star. However, he admits that it wasn’t so. “I was like, how can I be an actor? When I walk into a place, nobody notices me. I remember Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff; when they walked in, you’d know someone had come. So I decided that until that happens to me, I’ll never make it.”
