Shahid on not wanting to work with Katrina: “Total Rubbish”

Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ has hit the headlines even before before it goes on floors. While Katrina Kaif was a strong contender to be Kapoor’s leading lady in the film, rumors of Kapoor refusing to work with Kaif started doing the rounds. Kapoor has refuted the rumors and the director, Shree Narayan Singh has also agreed, calling the reports “untrue.”

Pinkvilla reports that Kapoor took to his Twitter page, (@shahidkapoor) to clarify that the rumors of him, not wanting to work with Kaif are “Total rubbish.” Singh also spoke to Pinkvilla, saying, “This is absolutely untrue. I do not even understand where this is coming from, why would Shahid be unhappy? Firstly, Shahid does not interfere with the creatives and casting. Secondly, we are yet to take a call on this. Myself and Prerna-producer will take a joint call very soon. Regarding to Katrina or any actor, it is the director’s call and Shahid equally supports this. To sum it all up, Shahid has no reservations at all if Katrina is on board, in fact he will be glad to have her on the film. It’s better not to speculate things like this.”

If the film is released, Kapoor will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’.
