CBFC refuses to speed up ‘Padmavati’ certificate

The troubled epic drama ‘Padmavati’ continues to be surrounded in controversy.

After its release getting halted from the 1st December, the Central Board of Film Certification has refused to speed up the process to certify the Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus.

Apparently, the makers of the film were hoping for a quicker clearance process, to get the film out in cinemas sooner rather than later. However, CBFC will treat the film like any other.

ANI has tweeted, “#FLASH Central Board of Film Certification turns down application by makers of #Padmavati seeking to expedite Certification process of the movie.”

ANI added, “Turning down plea of #Padmavati makers, CBFC said that the movie will be reviewed and certified as per set norms of following chronological order of all applications.”

CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi had earlier said that the film’s clearance application was rejected due to incomplete documents and furthermore, they omitted information stating whether the film is a fiction/historical piece of art.
