Kapil Sharma halts shoot of Akshay’s TV show due to health

Kapil Sharma’s promotions of ‘Firangi’ on Akshay Kumar’s ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ on Star Plus had to be halted due to the comedian’s health issues.

Sharma, who has been on on a roll promoting ‘Firangi’ on various outlets, was forced to cancel his appearance on Kumar’s popular weekend comedy show. Pune Mirror reports that Kumar, along with other judges Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade were kept waiting for hours before they were notified about his health.

A source from the sets told Mirror, “Akshay prefers to shoot early in the morning but after discussing the schedule with Kapil’s team, the schedule was slotted for 11am. Everyone, including Akshay and the others, arrived on the sets by 10.30 am and were waiting for Kapil. But the shoot was halted till 2pm while Kapil remained unavailable over the phone.

At around 2.30pm, Akshay suggested that the team start shooting without Kapil and add his bit whenever he arrives. An hour later, they were informed that Kapil will not turn up as he is unwell and his doctor has advised him rest.”

The show’s script had to be rewritten and had to cancel Sharma’s integration.
