Star Gold HD begins EPG data testing in UK

As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com last week, Star Gold HD is getting nearer to its UK launch after EPG data tests were spotted earlier today on the Sky platform.

Even though the EPG data tests are not visible to viewers, this is expected to change next week when official audio and video testing begins. Star Gold HD has been on a ratings high in the UK and the broadcaster is hoping to give viewers a further reason to tune in with its blockbuster movies being shown in HD.

Star Gold will become only the second Bollywood HD movie channel in the UK after Sony MAX HD launched in August this year. Star Gold HD will complement sister channel, Star Plus HD, which was the first to launch in the UK. With Star Gold HD, the number of Asian TV HD offerings in the UK will go up to six, which include Star Plus, Colors, Sony TV, Sony MAX and &TV.

Star Gold HD is expected to launch on Sky in the UK in December.
