Akshay Kumar: “Actresses are treated like time bombs”

It’s quite evident that female actors in the Bollywood industry have a much shorter career span than that of their male counterparts. Akshay Kumar recently commented on the unfairness of this, describing it as a “time bomb”.

Reported in the Deccan Chronicle, Kumar who turned 50 in September, expressed his disapproval towards the treatment of female actors. “Unfortunately, actresses are treated like time bombs, which I feel is completely unfair. I’m beyond proud of all (those) who have not let the 10-year shelf life have any significance for their careers and have stormed past (that deadline) with pride,” says Kumar.

Currently Kumar is busy with ‘Padman’ which slated to release on Republic day 2018. Not only that, the highly anticipated ‘2.0’ with Rajnikanth is also due out, however the ‘Airlift’ (2016) actor has said that the two films won’t clash at the box office. Once these films are complete, Kumar will focus on his next films, ‘Gold’ and ‘Battle Of Saraghari’.
