Star Gold HD prepares for UK launch

Star TV Network is planning to expand its HD offerings by launching Star Gold HD on the Sky platform.

Star Gold HD will complement the existing Star Plus HD service in the coming weeks. BizAsiaLive.com understands that the new channel will launch sometime in December.

Star Gold HD will become the second HD Bollywood movie channel to be available in the UK market after Sony MAX HD. The number of HD channels will also increase, which currently consists of Star Plus HD, Sony Entertainment Television HD, Sony MAX HD, Colors HD and &TV HD. ZEE TV is the only broadcaster not to have a HD equivalent from the big Hindi GECs in the UK.
