ZEE TV UK rejigs primetime schedule to lure viewers

After an underwhelming start in UK ratings back in August, ZEE TV UK is making the first batch of major changes to its weekday primetime schedule from Monday (6th November).

As reported earlier, locally produced live magazine show ‘ZEE Companion’ is being shunted to an early evening slot and being cut from 60 to 30 minutes. It will air from 17:30. The daily news bulletin, which airs at 17:30 will shift to 17:00.

ZEE TV’s fiction programming will commence at 18:00 with ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’, followed by ‘Zindagi Ki Mehek’ at 18:30, ‘Piyaa Albela’ at 19:00, ‘Woh Apna Sa’ at 19:30, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ at 20:00, ‘Kundali Bhagya’ at 20:30, ‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morey’ at 21:00 and ‘Aisi Deewangi’ at 21:30.

Interestingly, the channel will use the weekday 22:00 slot to re-run its recently concluded blockbuster reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Lil Champs’.

Since ZEE TV joined BARB, the channel has been lagging behind Star Plus, Sony Entertainment Television, Colors and even its sibling, &TV. With the new slew of changes, ZEE TV is hoping it will be able to win back viewers.
