Rajkummar Rao’s next inspired by the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign

Rajkummar Rao has been appreciated by one and all for his various characters and films, including, this year’s ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and India’s Oscar nomination ‘Newton’. His next film, ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ will be delivering an social message to the audience. It is inspired by the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, which focuses on improving the efficiency of welfare services for girls.

As according to the Bombay Times, director Ratnaa Sinha confirmed that her film will show that women can handle responsibilities at home and at work. She said, “Ours is a diverse society but certain things affect all of us commonly. I’ve seen numerous instances which have inspired my film. Parents educate their daughters but what good does that bring to them? In most marriages, a girl is barred from pursuing a career; presumptions are made that she may not want to have one. On the contrary, she’s expected to stay home and run errands, which is also important but not necessarily her choice. Knowing the modern woman, I can say that a girl can handle her responsibilities at home and work simultaneously. My film tackles this subject in a light-hearted manner.”

‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ also stars Kriti Kharbanda, and is slated for a 10th November release.
