UK TV Reach: Star Plus continues to rule; Colors & Sony TV climb

Star Plus remained the dominant force in UK weekly reach data but Colors and Sony Entertainment Television continued to climb, according to BARB figures for week ending Sunday 15th October 2017.

Star Plus rose from 747,000 viewers last week to 764,000 viewers, followed by Colors with 412,000 viewers, Sony TV with 359,000 viewers, &TV with 327,000 viewers, Rishtey with 271,000 viewers, Zing with 266,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 262,000 viewers, Hum TV with 260,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 246,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 242,000 viewers and Star Bharat with 240,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of ZEE TV with 216,000 viewers, Geo TV with 197,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 162,000 viewers, Prime TV with 139,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 108,000 viewers, PTV Global with 106,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 99,000 viewers, Venus TV with 86,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 80,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 53,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 49,000 viewers and A Plus Europe with 48,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold continued to rule the Indian movie genre with 519,000 viewers (last week 427,000 viewers), followed by Sony MAX with 360,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 229,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 218,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music stayed ahead with 245,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 218,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 65,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 22,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News remained the top South Asian news channel with 265,000 viewers (last week 215,000 viewers), followed by New Vision TV with 189,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 183,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 169,000 viewers, ABP News with 166,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 159,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of Dunya News with 100,000 viewers, UK 44 with 50,000 viewers, Times Now with 45,000 viewers and News18 with 6,000 viewers.
