Jackky Bhagnani to star in Hindi remake of Telugu film ‘Pelli Choopulu’

Jackky Bhagnani will reportedly be seen in a Hindi remake of Telugu film ‘Pelli Choopulu’ (2016), and it will be set in Gujarat.

The yet untitled romantic comedy drama will be also be directed by Nitin Kakkar, reports Times of India. “I’ve made some changes in the original script so that the Hindi film audience can connect with it,” Kakkar said in a statement.

Bhagnani has been shooting in Ahmedabad for the project. Interestingly, he has played a Gujarati before in Ashish Mohan’s ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ (2015).

The original ‘Pelli Choopulu’ featured Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma, and had won two National Film Awards. The movie revolved around the ‘pellichoopulu’ or arranged meeting between Prashanth (played by Vijay Deverakonda) and Chitra (Ritu Varma). Fed up of his carefree son, the boy’s father believes marriage will make him a more responsible man. Chitra turns out to be an ambitious girl and meeting her changes Prashanth’s life for the better.
