Karan Johar sets aside Rs. 100 crore budget for ‘Brahmastra’

Following the announcement of Ayan Mukerji’s next ‘Brahmastra’ with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan, producer Karan Johar is planning to leave no stone unturned to ensure it is a magnum opus. The film will be a trilogy and Johar is rumoured to have set aside budget of more than Rs100 crore to make this his biggest project to date.

The film, which will be a fantasy adventure series, will reportedly see Kapoor as a superhero. DNA India have reported that Johar understands the stature required for superhero genres and has informed his team to ensure the film reflects this and not to worry about the budget. If rumours are true, then this will be the director-producer’s biggest budget film.

Johar had planned to make ‘Shuddhi’ on the same level but this was later shelved. Seems the producer is still wanting to create the big-scale project with this latest offering from Dharma Productions.

The film is scheduled to release in August 2019.
