Tributes pour in for Tom Alter who died at 67
BizAsiaLive.com reported not long ago that popular theatre actor Tom Alter had been diagnosed with skin cancer and it was in its final stages. With great sadness, the actor passed away on Friday night.
His family released a statement which read, according to TOI, “It is with sadness we announce the death of Tom Alter, actor, writer, director, Padma Shri, and our dear husband and father. Tom passed away Friday night at home with his family and close family members in attendance. We ask for their privacy to be respected at this time”.
Alter was known for his many roles in theatre, TV and films, and was awarded a Padma Shri in 2008 for his contribution to arts and the cinema. He was also a sports writer and author and was the first person to interview Sachin Tendulkar on TV.
