Barun Sobti on ‘IPKKND 3’: “I am okay with it ending…”

Recently, it was revealed the third season of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ would be coming to an end. Lead actor Barun Sobti who gained much popularity from the previous seasons has said he’s OK with the show’s end.

When asked whether the failure of the show means anything to him personally, he revealed in an interview with Hindustan Times, “I am happy that people liked me and my work in the show. As for comparisions with the old show, I feel that’s the way our industry works. When something clicks, everybody is happy and they applaud it but when it doesn’t, they find flaws. I am happy with what I did in the show and I am okay about it ending too. I am a huge advocate of the saying ‘People like what they like’, so when they like your product, you think everybody is so smart. But, when they don’t, you feel they don’t know anything (laughs).”

He’s also been in the news lately, in the run upto the release of his film ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’, asking the kissing scenes to be toned down. To this he replied, “I don’t mind intimate scenes as I’ve done many in the past on TV but I am not comfortable with kissing on screen. It’s a personal thing. But otherwise, while shooting the film, we all had great fun as a unit and I think that camaraderie reflects in the film too,” said Sobti.

‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ coincidentally releases on 6th October which is also the day the final episode of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kyaa Naam Doon 3’ will be broadcast.
