UK TV Reach: Sony TV zooms ahead of Colors & ZEE TV

Sony Entertainment Television proved a ratings winner in latest weekly reach data supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 3rd September.

The channel registered a weekly reach of 359,000 viewers its biggest so far since joining the Sky Original Pack last month. Its audience was up from 226,000 viewers – an addition of 133,000 viewers this week. Sony TV was bigger than all the other major TV Indian channels (except Star Plus) including Rishtey, which registered 269,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 247,000 viewers, Colors with 196,000 viewers and Sony SAB TV with 190,000 viewers.

Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian TV channel with 676,000 viewers (last week 625,000 viewers), followed by Hum TV with 372,000 viewers, Sony TV with 359,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 326,000 viewers, Rishtey and PTC Punjabi with 269,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 247,000 viewers, &TV with 236,000 viewers, Prime TV with 232,000 viewers, Geo TV with 224,000 viewers, Zing with 213,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 190,000 viewers, Colors and PTV Global with 196,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 190,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 175,000 viewers, Venus TV with 153,000 viewers and Star Utsav with 147,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Hum Masala with 125,000 viewers, followed by ZEE Punjabi with 96,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 94,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 41,000 viewers and Urdu1 Europe with 29,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Sony MAX continued the lead the movie genre with 288,000 viewers, followed by ZEE Cinema with 267,000 viewers, Star Gold with 246,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 214,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 194,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music topped the music genre with 184,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 158,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 43,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 24,000 viewers.
