Akshay Kumar to star in another film based on real life events

Akshay Kumar has bought the rights to make a film based on the 1989 Raniganj Coalfield incident.

According to BoxOffice India, Kumar will be seen playing the hero of the mining event where 64 miners were trapped in a coal mine but later rescued. The hero of the rescue mission was J. S Gill who risked his own life by entering the coal mine and evacuated the miners.

Seems Kumar has got a taste of playing characters based on real life events after his recent stint in ‘Airlift’ (2016) where he evacuated Indians based in Kuwait during the Gulf War. The film and Kumar received great accolades for the film and looks like the actor wants to repeat the same success for this venture.
