UK TV Reach: &TV falls behind SAB & Hum TV

Its been a testing of late for &TV with ratings sliding over the past few weeks. Further to BizAsiaLive.com ’s previous report on the channel’s weekend dwindling audience figures, latest weekly reach data has put the channel below the 400k mark for the first time in months.

According to official BARB data for week ending Sunday 16th April, &TV UK could only muster in a reach of 332,000 viewers – one of its lowest ever reach. It was down considerably from last week when it raked in 427,000 viewers. Its sister channel Zing also suffered a decline with 317,000 viewers (last week 385,000 viewers).

Both channels were beaten in the ratings this week by Star Plus with 782,000 viewers (last week 948,000 viewers), followed by Sony SAB TV with 508,000 viewers, Star Gold with 499,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 483,000 viewers, Colors with 467,000 viewers and Rishtey with 435,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Prime TV with 298,000 viewers, B4U Music with 293,000 viewers, Geo TV with 292,000 viewers, Life OK with 262,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 218,000 viewers, PTV Global with 145,000 viewers, Venus TV with 142,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 129,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 112,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 72,000 viewers, SEE TV with 43,000 viewers and A Plus with just 29,000 viewers.

The top rated South Asian news channel was Geo News with 305,000 viewers (last week 324,000 viewers), followed by Dunya News with 186,000 viewers, ABP News with 171,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 164,000 viewers and Geo Tez with 159,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of UK 44 with 125,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 121,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 119,000 viewers, News18 with 74,000 viewers and Times Now with 33,000 viewers.
