Rani Mukerji: “Planning to spend my birthday with Adira”

On the eve of her birthday, Rani Mukerji decided to give her fans a special treat by inviting them to interact with her through a live Q & A on social media. As well as thanking them  for being there and sharing their love with her, Mukerji answered some questions about acting, her birthday plans and more.

Using social media site Facebook, the actress revealed how she’ll celebrate her birthday, “I’m planning to spend my birthday with my daughter, she makes me really happy so I’m just plan to spend the entire day with her, my parents and my husband.”

Many of her fans themselves aspire to be in the acting field themselves, so it comes to no surprise that many asked Mukerji for some words of wisdom. “An acting tip that I can share with you is, always perform from your heart and your soul and it’ll be great. Never ever, fake an emotion because the camera always catches it. That’s the only tip I can give you from my experience.”

Talking about what she looks for most between spontaneity or one that requires a lot more preperation when choosing a film, the actress expressed, “What works better for me is something that comes from my heart, so I would say spontaneity. For some roles you do need to prepare a little, so for those roles you kind of prepare where you have to really learn something new like a new language, or you have to learn a new skill like if you have to learn martial arts, or if you learn a particular sport. Yes preparation is needed for a particular role like that, but normally when I’m doing a film i like to do everything spontaneously because I feel the performance comes straight from the heart.”

Mukerji will soon be back on the big screen with the forthcoming film ‘Hichki’, and her fans didn’t hold back in expressing how excited they were. Without going into much detail, Mukherji also spoke about how she feels, as she added “I’m very excited for ‘Hichki’, it’s a very very special role. It’s very very inspirational.”

Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, ‘Hichki’ is set to go on floors next month.
