9XM begins official video testing ahead of launch

Popular Bollywood music channel, 9XM has commenced official video testing ahead of its launch on Sky Digital later this month.

Judging by the tests, the channel looks ready for launch with full video and audio tests in motion. Earlier this week, EPG data tests had appeared which also match with on-air programmes.

9XM is touted for an EPG launch mid-February with distribution, marketing and sales being handled by World Media Connect who currently run Imagine Dil Se, Music India and UMP Movies (marketing only).

9XM is a complete playlist channel with no presenters, instead replaced with cartoon characters who crop up on-screen with humorous bites of showbiz news. The animated characters include Bheegi Billi, Bade Chote, Beetals have one thing in common; they hate their teachers.

9XM UK will also have some local output, details of which will be announced by the channel shortly.

9XM UK will broadcast free-to-air and joins a plethora of other established music channels such as B4U Music, Zing, Music India and Brit Asia TV.

9XM was previously available on the Sky Digital platform in December 2009 before its EPG slot was sold to Colors. 9XM faced troubled waters in the UK due to its sister channel, 9X closing down and its parent company INX Media changing hands.

In the meantime, full 9XM testing can be viewed by manually tuning. Details below of how viewers can tune in:
