9X plans to wrap up ‘Jiya Jale’ and ‘Mere Apne’

After their daily comedies except for ‘Remote Control’ were yanked off air, it is learnt that 9X, the Hindi general entertainment channel from the INX Network, plans to wrap up its flagship dailies ‘Jiya Jale’ and ‘Mere Apne’.

Siddhartha Basu, producer, ‘Jiya Jale’, claims it is too premature to talk about the issue. He says, “9X plans to overhaul its prime time band.”

The story of ‘Jiya Jale’ is understod to be stretched and it loses direction at times. It is also learnt that Saurabh Pandey, who plays the lead, didn’t click with the viewers. Yasir Shah was roped in as a parallel lead, but that isn’t working either.

Details about the end of ‘Mere Apne’ aren’t clear. The daily is produced by Smriti Iraani. Gauri Nirudkar who plays Vrinda says she has heard rumours. Nothing official has been told to the actors yet.

A representative from the channel however, argues that it was announced at the launch that most shows would have a certain number of episodes and not more.
