Music TV network 9X Media, which owns and operates 9XM, 9X Jalwa, 9X Jhakaas, 9X Tashan and 9XO, has turned to OTT platforms (refers to video, television, and other services provided over the Internet) to reach out to the huge Indian diaspora across the globe.
9X Media currently holds agreements with content delivery platforms like Apalya Technologies, Lebara Media Services, Digivive, PK Online, Ooredo and YuppTV, the broadcaster has been able to reach the Indian diaspora in markets like the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, without having to depend on traditional distribution platforms in those markets.
OTT has bridged the gap of being away from home for audiences who still enjoy watching channels and content they have grown up viewing, 9X Media SVP of distribution Nitin Sharma told TelevisionPost.com. He added, Earlier it was difficult to take channels to other parts of the world because of the footprint of the satellite not available across, but with digital, you can reach every nook and corner of the world and can take your content to reach out to consumers anywhere across the globe.
