9X & 9XM make Freesat platform launch

INX Network’s two flagship channels 9X and 9XM have launched today on the new Freesat platform.

Bollywood music channel 9XM is available on EPG 513 (channel 513). Unlike other channels, 9XM moves away from VJ hosted shows to animated characters and full length video tracks.

9X on the other hand is the network’s general Hindi entertainment channel, which since its launch in India last November has recorded a viewership high. 9X is known for its alternative shows such as ‘Begum’, ‘Mahbhaarat’ and soaps like ‘Mere Apne’, ‘Kahe Naa Kahe’ and ‘Dahhej’. 9X is available on EPG 662.

Incidentally, 9X today launched its huge property ‘Kahaani Hamaarey Mahabhaarat Ki’ at 22:00 and is expected to coincide the launch of this epic drama, along with its Freesat debut with a 360 degrees marketing push in the coming days.

Indrani Mukerjea, founder and CEO, INX Media, said, “I am delighted to announce that 9X and 9XM, are now also available on Freesat. 9X has reached Freesat viewers in time as our epic series Mahabharat was recently launched in the UK with English subtitles. We are confident that the wide variety of family entertainment on 9X and the Bollywood music entertainment of 9XM will establish a strong connection with TV viewers there.”

B4U Music and ZEE Muzic are the only other two Asian TV channels available on Freesat.
