90% of young adults watching smartphone content daily

With the consumption of television viewing changing, its been revealed that 90% of young adults are watching content via their smartphones and smart television sets on a daily basis.

Ampere Analysis reports that growth is strongest in Europe, with an increase of 7% increase on smart TV and an increase of 8% for viewing on smartphones. The report adds that the US territory still has a higher proportion overall watching online videos on such devices.

– 18-24 year olds are more likely to watch online videos daily on their smartphones than other age groups.
– Nine in ten 18-24 year olds watch online video on the smartphones daily.

Minal Modha, Consumer Research Lead at Ampere Analysis said, “It is interesting to see young people in Europe and the US mirror levels of daily smartphone viewing, while in comparison older Europeans lag behind their US counterparts in this area. As the younger group ages, we expect them to continue watching video content on smartphone, so this viewing behaviour will continue to grow overall.”
