’83’ makers planning film on ICC Cricket World Cup 2019?

With work underway on India’s win in the 1983 ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be depicted by Ranveer Singh in ’83’, it seems the same makers are working on an idea for a film on the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.

PinkVilla reports that if India wins the current ICC Cricket World Cup, then there will be another film based on India’s victory.

A source told the publication, “The talks for the movie has already begun where Madhu is super excited to get the movie going. He has started further talks on this new project as well”. When contacted Madhu Mantena, he confirmed the news and said, “We are making the film to mark the iconic 1983 victory. After ’83, if India wins the World Cup this year in 2019, we would like to make a film on the win.”

Meanwhile, ’83’ helmed by Kabir Khan, also stars Deepika Padukone and releases in April 2020.
