148th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards to make comeback

The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards returns after two long years. The previous award function held in 2014 was a rather zealous event. Among the many celebrities who bagged awards were Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan. Veteran Actor Jeetendra was honored with a ‘Phalke Ratna’ award. The occasion is now finally making a comeback with some A-List celebrities expected to attend it.

Dadasaheb Phalke Academy has been celebrating and paying tribute since year 2000 to Dadasaheb Phalke and honoring icons, seniors and legends from all sectors of the Hindi and Reravigional Film Industry.

The award ceremony is well known for its in-discrimination towards stardom, and for awarding all fragments that bring to us the movie as we see it. The attraction lies in its equitability as it also acknowledges 22 crafts from makeup artists to spot-boys that bring out the movies to us. Speculations surround of celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Anil Kapoor amongst others bagging awards this year.

“It is really disheartening to witness quite some award ceremonies handling under the same title for beneficial purposes recently, but this event is held by a non-monetary foundation academy for films and acting. However keeping that aside for now I’m ecstatic to bring to you all, 148th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards which will be held on the 1st of June this year”, says Ganesh Jain, Chairman of Dadasaheb Phalke Academy.

Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Dilip Kumar. Manoj Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Hrtithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma, Ex. Chief Minister Vilasrao Desmukh, Ex. President of India Pratibha Patil are a few of the past Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards recipients.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards 2017 are set to hit it running on the 1st of June at Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle West, Mumbai and is expected to be quite a mesmerizing event.
