12th Gold Awards set to take place this month

The 12th Gold Awards, powered by ZEE5 and co-powered by Godrej will be held on 11th October this year. Producer Vikaas Kalantri, whose company White Leaf Entertainment is organizing the event, says that this year is very important. “The most special thing this time is that it’s live. We decided this last year that we should be the 1st ones to reveal the names of the winners. And not the others. Hence, our point of going live,” he says.

He adds, “The theme this time is Cheers To Gold, to be honest, it’s the most looked forward to awards in the industry. So this time, there will be more expectations since we are going live and also coming as a telecast on a channel. We are trying to maintain the balance and add the spark,” he says.

Talking about the celebrity guest list for the awards, he says, “We expect all the top actors from TV to be part of the festival. Since we have added ott (EXPLAIN) also, hence we expect a lot of good faces from OTT also,” he adds.

He says, “We have Nakul Mehta, Barkha Bisht, Paritosh Tripathi, and Manish Wadhwa hosting the main event. Rishina Kandhari, Devika Singh, Garima Jain, and Shardul Pandit will be at the gold carpet.”

The awards are happening later than usual because Vikaas and his wife were blessed with a baby. “As you know Gold is my baby but Priyanka and I were blessed with our first baby this year. Hence that took up our time and had to push back Gold for a later date,” he says.
