It is no secret that Bipasha Basu was not happy with the way her role turned out in Sajid Khan۪s Humshakals۪ (2014). When the actress had refused to promote the film, producer Vashu Bhagnani got extremely angry and said he would never work with Basu again. However, Basu says not only the film was a disturbing part of her life right from the time of shooting, when she would go home and cry.

Humshakals is a disturbing part of my life. Normally, I make my own mistakes but in this case, I made the mistake of listening to my manager, who felt I wasn’t picking any commercial films. I’d have been happy if my character had some stand-out quirks but humiliatingly, I was shoved at the back, behind the other two heroines. I didn’t say a word even though it troubled me to be on the sets where there was no respect for anybody_ I reported on time, would sit around all day doing nothing, then go home to my mother and cry–something that had never happened before,۝ Basu said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror.

Though the actress did not promote the film, she says she consciously avoided saying anything negative before the release of the film as she understands that would pull down the film and upset the producers and unit.

Basu will next be seen in Vikram Bhatt۪s Creature 3D۪, after which she has only one more film lined up at the moment: Bhushan Patel۪s Alone۪.
