The Indian Premier League continued to make an impact on the ratings of Hindi entertainment channels but numbers were much lower in comparison to last year.

According to data from TAM, third week ratings showed Sony Max (211 GRPs) and Sony Six (57 GRPs) witnessing a ratings decline. The combined data of both the channels (268 GRPs) is much less than 344 GRPs of Max in the third week of IPL last year.

The downturn is being blamed on phase 2 of digitisation that is happening concurrently along with the IPL.

Star Plus maintained its position as the most watched Hindi entertainment channel – losing 19 points from last week. The channel registered 233 GRPs this week (last week 252).

ZEE TV added 6 points and stayed in second place with 169 GRPs (last week 163). Colors bounced back to third place by adding 11 points with 167 GRPs (last week 156). Sony Entertainment Television Asia was in fourth with 165 GRPs (last week 160).

Sony SAB TV was down by 14 points and registered 123 GRPs (last week 137). Star Life Ok delivered 103 GRPs this week (last week 111).

Sahara One was at the bottom with 21 GRPs (last week 19).
